Please be advised that after a summer break the Derek Dooley Football Academy re-opens for the new football season this Saturday (4^thSeptember 2010). The Derek Dooley Football Academy was established to provide the opportunity to play football for amputees and people with additional needs, with access to people aged 18 years and above.

Newly incorporated alongside the Derek Dooley Football Academy will be the Sheffield Disability Football Development Centre. The Development Centre is also a pan-disability football session focusing on ages 10 to 18. Therefore whatever your age, gender or disability, between the Derek Dooley Football Academy and the Sheffield Disability Football Development Centre we now cater for the pan-disability footballer from 10 years upwards.

From these sessions we are looking to develop new teams to participate in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Ability Counts League. Youth players may also be referred for a trial at the Sheffield & Hallamshire Disability Centre of Excellence. Amputee players will also have the opportunity to participate in the National Amputee League.

A summary of the session details are as follows:

Day/Time/Frequency: Weekly sessions held each Saturday between 10am-12pm (starting on Saturday 4^th September 2010)

Venue: Goals Soccer Centre, 95 Norfolk Park Road, Sheffield S2 2RU.

Charge: A nominal fee of £2 per session is requested (special cases will be considered).

Details: Adult & Junior sessions will be split across two pitches, led by an FA Level 3 qualified coaches and supported by other qualified coaches.
